FATHOM / Services / Mobile App Development

We’re a React and Next.js engineering studio, so your app shares language, tooling, and often code with your website. One senior team, one backend, English and Arabic built in from day one — and every price published before you ask for it.

What this covers

01

Cross-platform apps with React Native and Expo

One TypeScript codebase that ships to both the App Store and Google Play. Because we build the web in React too, business logic, types, and components can move between your website and your app instead of being written twice.

02

One backend for web and app

The same self-hosted Payload CMS and Node backends we build for web power the app. Your team edits content once, and it appears on the website and in the app — no duplicate admin panels, no sync scripts.

03

Store submission and over-the-air updates

We handle App Store and Google Play submission end to end. After launch, Expo Updates lets us ship fixes and improvements over the air — without waiting days for store review on every change.

04

Arabic and RTL engineered from day one

In-app English and Arabic localization with proper right-to-left layout is part of the architecture, not an afterthought — the same discipline we apply to our bilingual web builds for the UAE market.

How we work

01

Scope and fixed quote

A scoping workshop turns your idea into a technical specification: screens, data model, integrations, and an honest MVP cut. You get a written quote grounded in our published pricing model, not a number invented for the meeting.

02

Architecture and design

We design the backend schema, API, and app navigation together, in both languages. Decisions that are expensive to change later — offline behaviour, authentication, RTL layout — are made here, on paper, where they’re cheap.

03

Build in weekly increments

Senior engineers write TypeScript in a CI pipeline from the first week. You get installable test builds on your own phone as features land — progress you can tap, not slides.

04

Store submission and launch

We prepare listings, certificates, and review compliance, then submit to the App Store and Google Play and see the app through review to release.

05

Operate and iterate

After launch, over-the-air updates carry fixes straight to users, crash monitoring tells us before your customers do, and a Care Plan keeps dependencies, store requirements, and OS updates handled.

One TypeScript codebase for iOS and Android — from the same team, and often the same code, as your web platform.

Why FATHOM

Published pricing in a quote-on-request market

Most app development companies in Dubai price on request. Our numbers are on this page: cross-platform MVPs from AED 45,000, typical business apps AED 45,000–120,000. You can budget before you ever talk to us.

One stack, web and app, no subcontractor sandwich

Your website and your app are built by the same engineers on the same TypeScript stack, sharing one backend. No agency fronting a subcontractor, no handoffs where quality quietly leaks out.

Senior engineers, one transparent rate

No junior benches billed at senior prices. Ad-hoc work runs at a single published rate — AED 450 per hour — and fixed quotes are built from the same arithmetic.

Measurable quality bars, in the contract

We publish a PageSpeed SLA for our web work; for apps we commit to the measurable equivalents — crash-free rate targets, app size budgets, and a CI pipeline handed over with full code ownership.

Cross-platform (React Native) vs native Swift/Kotlin — an honest decision guide

There are apps that genuinely belong in native Swift and Kotlin: heavy 3D or AR rendering, games, and products built around platform-first hardware APIs where you need every capability the day it ships. If that’s your app, we’ll tell you so — it isn’t what we sell. For roughly 90% of business apps, cross-platform is the stronger engineering decision: one TypeScript codebase serving iOS and Android means one team instead of two, logic shared with your web platform instead of written three times, roughly half the maintenance surface, and over-the-air updates that put fixes on users’ phones without waiting on store review. The honest question isn’t which technology is “best” — it’s which one your product actually needs. We’ll answer that before you spend a dirham.

Frequently asked questions

How much does mobile app development cost in Dubai?

The UAE market runs roughly AED 30,000–250,000+ depending on complexity, and most local offers are quote-on-request, which makes budgeting hard. Our pricing is published: a cross-platform MVP starts from AED 45,000, typical business apps land between AED 45,000 and 120,000, and complex or enterprise builds are scoped individually from AED 120,000+. Ad-hoc senior engineering is AED 450 per hour.

Should we build with React Native or go native with Swift and Kotlin?

Native is the right call for heavy 3D/AR, games, and apps built around platform-specific hardware APIs — and if that’s your product, we’ll say so. For the large majority of business apps, React Native wins: one TypeScript codebase for both stores, logic shared with your web platform, one team to pay, half the maintenance, and over-the-air updates. We’ll give you a straight recommendation at the scoping stage.

How long does it take to build an app?

A realistic MVP takes 8–12 weeks from signed scope to store submission, assuming decisions are made without long pauses. Larger builds with complex integrations take longer, and we’ll tell you by how much before we start. Store review itself typically adds days, not weeks — and after launch, over-the-air updates let us ship most changes without going through review again.

Who owns the code?

You do — fully and contractually. At handover you receive the complete repository, the CI pipeline, store accounts under your ownership, and documentation. No licensing lock-in, no proprietary platform you can’t leave: any competent React Native team could pick the project up tomorrow.

Do you maintain the app after launch?

Yes. Care Plans start from AED 350 per month, with app-specific scope — OS and store-requirement updates, dependency upgrades, crash monitoring, and over-the-air fixes — quoted on top based on your app’s size and complexity. You’re never obliged to stay: the code is yours either way.

Can you build the app in Arabic and English?

Yes, and it’s engineered in from day one rather than bolted on later. In-app localization, proper right-to-left layout, and bilingual content flowing from a single Payload CMS backend — the same discipline we apply to our bilingual web builds for the UAE market.
